Details are being worked out, but the 2015 Spring Camporee will be held at the Monadnock Humane Society in Swanzey. We will be cutting dog walking trails and be learning about how a humane society works.

Scoutmasters, we're going to try something new for this camporee. We'd like to get your SPL to use to download information for the troop. We're counting on your guidance to coach them on getting the information they need to take back to the unit.

Look here in coming weeks for more information! Image 2015 Spring Camporee Flyer from roundtable is attached and copied here: The MHS needs a trail cut for walking animals in the woods.

UPDATE 05/07/15

Just a couple days to go!

Please help the Monadnock Humane Society! Let's do our good turn for our community and build a trail for shelter animals as well as the citizens of our region. If your troop is unable to attend the camporee in it's entirety please try to help out Saturday morning from 9AM to 12 Noon with trail construction.

BE PREPARED!! Bring your 10 essentials. Water and bug repellent are vital. The tick hazard is real and ever present. We will be working in a wooded area and camping in a field. Both are excellent environments for ticks.

Fire danger is growing. Please be prepared in case of Red Flag conditions with a back-up cooking method for wood fires (charcoal or stoves). Swanzey Fire Department officers will be on site to issue or withhold fire permits. Ensure scouts have water buckets to extinguish any fires. You will need shovels and rakes to prepare a fire area if allowed. Remove and replace sod with shovels and remove flammable materials from area with rakes.

See you soon! Rich
